Amaneunsis Monday ~ Addie WARD CONN ~ Letter 28-40

This letter was written by Addie WARD CONN to her daughter Jessie Opal CONN FENN BRITTON. This letter confirms the names Nancy PRICE and William WARD that I thought were the parents. My great aunt had this letter but she must have forgotten about this information. I was excited when I found it.


Dear Babe and all

Your letter came last week and found ur all right.

Am glad Mrs Fenn is improving it must be hard for to have to lye in bed so long, but maby she feels like resting.

Things are just the same here. I meant I didn’t think I would be able to  go any place this summer don’t know if I can ride to the reunion and back in a day. My Mothers name was Albany Yount. Dads mothers maiden name was Nancy Price. I don’t know what mothers, mother name was of course her last name was Yount but I cant remember her given name. Dads fathers name was William Ward and his grandparents were John Ward and John Price. The would be my great grand-parents to day have had a lot of rain the last June day. willl se you at the reunion if I can Love Ma

Pas Mothers name was Sarah Catherin Neff.

  1. Genealogical information can come in the most unexpected ways — a reference in a letter, notes scribbled on the edge of a pad. Exciting discoveries of half a dozen facts here! In the pictures, you can really see the resemblance between mother and daughter!

    • All Addie’s daughters look like her and I can even see the resemblence in my grandma and aunt. It’s uncanny.
